Join our Brompton MeetUp communities in New York City, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. for more fun events organized by our riders.
Kicking off in New York City, the US leg of the One Millionth Brompton Tour wrapped up in Los Angeles this October. For two weeks, our team brought the One Millionth Brompton ever produced to cities across the country. Featuring group rides, meet and greets, and store socials, we invited our enthusiastic Brompton community to see the bike in-person and receive complimentary swag.
We also partnered with our dealer network to encourage city cycling amongst their own customers. With hundreds of attendees at our combined event stops, the tour showed what we know of Brompton riders already: how much our community loves getting together over our shared passion of adventure.
Here's how each city celebrated the One Millionth Brompton Tour...
The tour started at our Micro Junction in Dumbo where we let Brompton fans go for a test ride on the One Millionth Brompton. Afterward, we hosted a group ride around the West Village to select attendees of the WRLDCTY conference. We also led an additional group ride around SoHo with REI, taking pictures at Washington Square Park and ending for snacks and refreshments at Honeybrains.
Our time in New York continued with a party at the Brompton Junction in Manhattan. We passed out Halloween candy and stickers as visitors had the chance to take pictures with the One Millionth Brompton.
Bromptoberfest, an annual community-led ride from Central Park to Queens, was our last stop in the city. After the ride, participants met at Max Bratwurst und Bier to celebrate the bonding time together.
After meeting up in Georgetown, we took riders on a tour around the historical sites, making a stop at the Mall for a group photo in front of the Washington Monument. Our friends at Conte’s Bike Shop offered free tune-ups beforehand, and we also rode with Happy Go Bikes and BicycleSPACE.
As we headed to the West Coast, we safely packed up the One Millionth Brompton, excited to continue our journey.
After picking up the bike from baggage claim, we got ready for our next event in Portland.
Our group ride with Clever Cycles was a big success—despite the rain! We participated in relay challenges and folding competitions alongside our attendees. At the end of the night, we met at Baerlic Brewing for drinks.
There’s nothing like biking next to the ocean!
On our first day in LA, we got together with our friends at The Bike Center for a group ride from Culver City to Santa Monica. We pedaled past the beach and completed our ride at Santa Monica Brew Works for some post-ride refreshments.
The next day, we were ready to join Just Ride LA for a morning ride to CicLAvia, a car-free event where streets in the city are closed for urban cycling. It was an inspiring experience to see thousands of riders on safe and open streets in the heart of the city.
The success of the US leg of the One Millionth Brompton Tour would not be possible without the support of our dedicated community and retail dealers.
As the One Millionth Brompton World Tour concludes at the end of this year, the memories made remind us of why we're Brompton riders. We may have made one million Bromptons—but we’ve more than surpassed a million Brompton memories worldwide
