How do I find my Serial Number

Each Brompton leaves the factory with a unique identifying serial number. The serial number can be found on the rear of the seat tube.

Name of Product: Folding Brompton Bicycles with FAG bottom bracket cartridge.

Hazard: The FAG bottom bracket can break during use, posing a fall hazard.

Remedy: Replace.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact an authorized Brompton dealer for a free installation of a new bottom bracket cartridge.

Recall Details

Units: 8400 in US, 1282 in Canada.

This recall involves Brompton bikes with serial numbers from 1403284144 to 1705150001 (Manufactured April 2014 - May 2017). The serial number can be found on a curved plate or sticker, applied to the rear of the seat tube, as shown in the image below:

If the barcode sticker on the bike is faded or rubbed off, please submit the 6 digit frame number stamped into the metal plate behind the bottom bracket and seat tube via email to to receive correlating serial number.

Incidents/Injuries: There has been no incidents or injuries in US or Canada

Sold at: Brompton dealers nationwide for between $1200 & $3000.
