In celebration of Brompton Renewed, we commissioned two New York-based artists, Tiantian Lou and Devon Reina, to paint on the frames of two bikes from this program. Each artist received a Renewed bike of their choice with the challenge to create a work of art that represents their personal creativity. The bikes are on display at our New York City and Washington DC Brompton Junction stores until December 2024. Afterward, both artists will receive their bikes back to create new adventures around town inspired by their artwork. Visit our Instagram page to explore more of their respective artistic processes.

Brompton Renewed offers high-quality, pre-loved bikes that have been fully serviced, inspected, and graded to meet rigorous standards. These are ex-demo, display, or returned bikes that are refurbished and ready for a second life at a reduced cost.
Brompton grading for returned bikes is typically based on a thorough inspection of the bike’s condition, which is then categorized into different grades based on wear and functionality.
The grading process generally includes but is not limited to:
• Visual Inspection: Frame and Paintwork, Components & Rust & Corrosion
• Mechanical Assessment: Brakes & Gears, Wheels & Tires, Folding Mechanism
• Funtionality Testing: Ride Quality, Electrical Components
• Reworking and Repairs: Any parts that are significantly worn out or damaged are replaced or repaired as needed to ensure safety and ride quality.
• Cleaning: The bike is thoroughly cleaned, and any minor cosmetic fixes are applied before it is re-listed for sale.
Based on the inspection and testing, the bike is graded into one of three categories:
• Grade A (Like New): Minimal signs of use, very close to new condition with little to no cosmetic damage and perfect mechanical performance.
• Grade B (Good Condition): Moderate signs of use with minor cosmetic wear, such as small scratches or scuffs. All mechanical parts are in excellent working condition with slight wear but no major defects.
• Grade C (Well-Loved): Significant signs of use, including visible cosmetic wear and tear, such as scratches, scuffs, or paint chips. Mechanically, the bike is fully functional, but some components, including the tires, may show more obvious signs of use.
• Grade A is perfect for those who want a bike that feels and looks nearly new at a lower price.
• Grade B is ideal for riders who don’t mind a few minor cosmetic imperfections but still want a fully functional, high-quality bike.
• Grade C is a great option for budget-conscious buyers who prioritize functionality over aesthetics.
